  • English Language Proficiency

  • If you have not studied for a minimum of three years (including the final year) in an institution where the principal language of instruction is English, you are required to submit a satisfactory English Language Proficiency test score.

    Huron requires one of the following:

    Level 5 of Fanshawe’s International English as a Second Language Program:


    Completion of Level 5 of Fanshawe’s International English as a Second Language program can be considered for admission for applicants requiring English proficiency.     ILAC’s High Advanced Level:

    ELS’s Level 110 or Level 112:


    Completion of ELS’s Level 110 (with conditions) or Level 112 can be considered for admission for applicants requiring English proficiency. For more information, please visit: http://www.els.edu/en

    London Language Institute ESL University Preparation Program:


    Completion of the London Language Institute ESL University Preparation Program can also be considered for admission for applicants requiring English proficiency. For more information, please visit: http://www.llinstitute.com/


    Western's English Language Centre:

    Completion of the Highest Advanced Level at the English Language Centre at Western University may be used as proof of English Language proficiency.  For more information, please visit: http://www.englishlanguage.uwo.ca/
  • Study Permit (Visa)

  • All international students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents are required to obtain a Study Permit to study in Canada.

    You may apply for a Study Permit as soon as you have received an Offer of Admission letter from Huron University College.

    Contact a Canadian Embassy, Consulate, or High Commission in your home country to apply for the Study Permit.

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

  • It is the responsibility of the student to send the IB Diploma scores directly to the Admissions Office at Huron University College.

     

    Requirements for Applicants Completing an IB Diploma

     

    • IB Diploma with a minimum of six subjects (including a minimum of three at the higher level);
    • A minimum score of 28, with no less than a 4 on any subject;
    • Any required courses specific to the program of study (see chart below);
    • Transfer credit to be considered on a case-by-case basis for students presenting grades of 5 or better on higher level subjects.
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Courses

  • AP applicants must present the official College Board examination results to be considered for advanced standing credit.

    Final grade of 4 or 5 is required to grant credit.

    Huron University College will grant a maximum of two credits.

  • General Certificate of Education (GCE)

  • Requirements for Applicants:

    • Five General Certificate of Education passes, of which two must be at the Advanced Level, or:
    • Four General Certificate of Education passes, of which three must be at the Advanced Level.
    • Applicants with a "B" Grade on predicted or final GCE Advanced Level exams may be eligible for advanced standing credit.
    • Except for prerequisite courses, two Advanced Supplementary (AS) Level exams will be considered as equivalent to one GCE Advanced Level exam.

  • Outside of Canada

    • Grade 12 English (academic) with a minimum grade of 70% (or B-); and
    • Any other admission requirements to University in your home country.
