Residence and Food

Huron University College guarantees residence to all first-year students who meet the deadline (June 1, 2018) for residence application and deposit. Hellmuth Scholarship holders are awarded their preference for building and room.

House: formerly a home (located on Huron's campus) that has been converted to residence space for upper year students
Dormitory: single and double rooms with shared washroom facilities
Suite: four single rooms with shared washroom facilities in the suite
Co-ed: All of Huron's co-ed residences have separate washrooms for men and for women, as well as private washrooms. 

Residence rooms are equipped with the following:
  • bed frame and mattress (single)  
  • desk and chair  
  • closet or wardrobe  
  • dresser or mate's bed with drawers  
  • wastebasket  
  • corkboard  
  • bookshelves or wall shelving  
  • mirror  
  • drapes or blinds. 

Meal Plans

All students living in residence must participate in the food plan. Students dine in the Huron Dining Hall, located on Huron's campus just a short walk from the residences.

Your food card operates on a declining balance system that updates your balance each time you make a purchase at the Food Court. 

The Huron Dining Hall offers many different varieties of food and meal options. Students may choose from:

  • Jasmine

  • Vegetarian and Low Fat options  
  • Oxford Street Grill
  • Daily Specials  
  • Savoury
  • Soup options
  • Brown's In-House Pizza
