The BSIP Program has hundreds of roles that are segmented into four streams. We’re hiring for all four streams in several geographic locations across Canada. Review all four streams and choose how you will grow by applying online.
IT & DEVELOPER
What you will do
Technology plays a vital role at BMO. Based on our enterprise technology vision, we lead the development and implementation of innovative and cost effective information technology strategies, multiyear investment plans, solutions and operational environments that support and enable BMO lines of business to meet defined strategies. This includes:
- Delivering solutions on time, on budget with engineered designs, quality, costs and operational readiness.
- Running an efficient and effective technology infrastructure and information technology operations which reduces ongoing costs and leverages common assets while delivering increased service level performance.
- Safeguarding our environments, data, intellectual property, and operating within our risk appetite.
IT & Developer roles at BMO Financial Group are located in technology group and include many roles: software developers, business analysts, scrum master, IT operations analysts, security analysts, database administer and quality assurance analysts. In the IT and Development team, your work may involve network design, quality assurance testing, or strategic technological planning. Configure, design, test and/or analyze security for a Bank system, network or tool.
What you have
- Knowledge of software development practices, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
- Knowledge of technical/business environment and processes.
- Understanding of functional aspects and technical behavior of the underlying operating system, development environment, and deployment practices.
- Basic knowledge of project management processes, documentation, audit and signoff authorities
- Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Work collaboratively by inspiring trust, motivating others and partnering with colleagues to get the job done
- Ability to quickly learn new tools, frameworks and technology
Who you are
- Demonstrate strong academic performance with a G.P.A. equivalent to 3.0 or higher
- Career aspirations in financial services
- Actively contributes to your community with extracurricular activities, community involvement, clubs or other volunteer experiences
Current post-secondary student in one of the following programs and will return to school in the fall of 2019:
- Business Technology Management
- Computer Science
- IT management

We are asking students to apply with a cover letter, resume and transcript through the BMO link by February 15, 2019. Please indicate your location preference in your application.
Resume screening, interviews and offers start immediately –- apply early to be considered for the most number of roles.
If you are selected for an interview you will be contacted by a member of our campus recruitment team by end of April 2019 to discuss your qualifications and potential fit for the internship program.
If you are successful, a second round interview with the hiring manager will follow. The hiring manager will discuss the specifics of the role and provide a more detailed job description.
If you are not successful in the application process, you will be notified by email no later than end of April 2019.
The internship program will start on Monday, May 6, 2019 and will be a 16 week internship.
