Huron prioritizes ethical conduct for both faculty and student researchers. We hold our research community to the highest ethical standards because we want to contribute real value to academia and the world more broadly. These shared values are essential to promoting positive collaborations and productive research projects that address real-life challenges.
Learn more about the importance of research ethics and the expectations we place upon our students and faculties as they push the envelope and generate original and innovative research.
Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans
Research projects involving human participants must receive clearance by the Huron University College Research Ethics Board (HUC REB) to ensure ethical standards are met. Researchers at Huron, both faculty members and students, are expected to uphold the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS 2).
Researchers are encouraged to complete the TCPS 2 Tutorial Course on Research Ethics (CORE), and to be familiar with the Policy and Procedures before completing their HUC REB submission.
