Meal Plan

All students living in residence must participate in the food plan. Students dine in the Huron Dining Hall, located on Huron's campus just a short walk from the residences. The meal plan is based on an "all you care to eat" system. The set price covers all meals, every day, for the entire academic year. The meal plan holder also has a set amount of funds available to purchase meals at any of the Huron food service locations, including selected vending machines located throughout the Huron campus.

Meal Plan Pricing

Your Huron Meal Plan is based on an ‘All You Care to Eat’ model. The cost of the meal plan covers all of the students meals in residence, every day, for the entire school year. A portion of your meal plan fee is designated as ‘Huron Flex Dollars’ which can be spent at the vending machines around Huron’s campus or the small retail kiosk in the Huron Dining Hall. Additional funds can be added to your Huron Flex account through the Huron Dining Hall Office.

A portion of your meal plan fees are also designated to ‘Western Flex dollars’ which can be spent at Western’s various eateries and any Western affiliated restaurants. Additional funds can be added to your Western Flex account through the Western Campus Meal Plan Office.

Meals in the All You Care to Eat Program must be consumed in the dining hall; takeout is prohibited.

Dining Hall

The Dining Hall is located on the Huron campus, steps from Western. It offers a unique dining experience, varied cuisine and top quality service, in air-conditioned, smoke free, spacious dining rooms. Brown's Dining Solutions is Canada's largest independently owned dining solutions company and operates exclusively as a dining services provider in over 140 sites in Canada. In support of the commitment to providing the best service, products, and value possible, Brown's will establish a committee of students, and staff to continually review a range of subjects which impact users daily, including operating hours, menus, and value.

If you have special dietary needs you should speak to our Director of Food Services, Brian Harness, to make sure your needs are met as effectively as possible. Brian can suggest the proper meal plan for you to purchase.  Email Brian, huronmanager@browns.ca, for more details.

Jasmine

Jasmine is Brown's fusion concept, providing a range of Asian-inspired dishes with a focus on freshly prepared creations with a definite preference for local fresh vegetables, unique noodle and rice dishes, and leaner meats. The menu changes every week, so students will want to be sure to stop by often.

Corner Deli

The Corner Deli features premium sandwiches, wraps, and pitas all made to order. Students can order a "Signature Salad" or build their own.

Oxford Street Grill

"Brown's Signature Burgers", fries, poutine, dogs, tacos, and so much more will be featured at the Oxford Street Grill.

Brown's In-House Pizza

Better Ingredients, Better Pizza

Fire Roasted Coffee Company

A local, fair trade, and ethical coffee company which supports sustainability, with a full range of fresh pastries and snacks available.

Savoury

Savoury will bring the taste of home to the Huron Centre. Home-style meals and à la carte choices are the primary focus of Savoury, with many menu options developed to "lighten" up offerings for those who prefer smaller portions, lower fat choices, or have special dietary needs. Students are invited to bring their favourite recipes from home, especially those for vegetarian and ethnic dishes. If a suggestion is used on the menu, the student and a friend will enjoy a complimentary meal.

Fastlane

Students in a rush can stop by Fastlane for freshly made sandwiches, wraps, sushi, salads, soups, snacks, and beverages all ready to go when they are.
